2025: Improving the security of the outer perimeter

For 6 months, BI. ZONE CPT experts have reduced the risk level of the external perimeter of the Foxford online school to the low-code mark. All infrastructure vulnerabilities have been addressed. As a result, online school assets and services are monitored during the day. BI.Zone announced this on September 29, 2025.

Foxford is one of the online schools with its own platform, which trains over 13 million registered users. The company has an extensive IT infrastructure, builds complex online processes and processes large amounts of personal data. All this increases the level of cybersecurity requirements, including protecting the external perimeter and managing vulnerabilities.

The organization built cyber defense and faced a key problem - the lack of monitoring of services and web applications on the perimeter. Also, the company did not have well-functioning processes for prompt notification and elimination of vulnerabilities, as well as a complete picture of the IT infrastructure. To reduce the risks involved, it required:

• implement a systematic approach to resource protection,
• take an inventory of the outer perimeter,
• identify critical vulnerabilities,
• reduce the time to eliminate them.

In addition, it was necessary to determine which hosts, IP addresses, domains and services are in the gray control area. This means that they are not described in internal systems, from where information enters the corporate cybersecurity service.

In 6 months, more than a hundred vulnerabilities of the external perimeter have been eliminated, and new assets and services are now monitored within 24 hours. As of August 2025, not a single vulnerability remained on the perimeter, and the risk level decreased to low, minimal.
