The center is equipped with 15 artificial kidney devices and is designed to provide medical care by hemodialysis to up to 90 patients. The devices installed in the Apatitian institution belong to the last generation and belong to the 5008 series. For the equipment to work well, a large amount of distilled water is needed. They clean water in two workshops at once. It is planned that thirteen of the 15 devices will constantly work. Two will remain in reserve.

The center was built by the German company Fresenius as part of a public-private partnership

The dialysis center in Apatity serves the south of the Murmansk region: Monchegorsk, Apatity, Kirovsk, Kandalaksha, Kovdor. Officially, the former hemodialysis department that existed in Kirovsk ceased to work.

As of February 8, 46 patients are in the center for treatment. The service is paid for by the health insurance fund and is free for patients.[1] In addition, patient delivery from home to the treatment site and back is organized.

In 2018, in the medical building of the hospital, it is planned to complete the organization of a reception department and an X-ray cabin on the ground floor, and a multidisciplinary day hospital on the third floor, said Yuri Shiryaev, chief doctor of the Apatit-Kirov Central City Hospital.[2]
