The GEFEST insurance company performed cost optimization on IT and based on virtual data center of CROC company, according to the agreement between the companies, the test educational environment of an information and analytical system of the company is unrolled.
Solution
The portal allows the customer to include or switch off virtual machines, to connect to them new disk resources and to manage their volume. Besides, it is possible to create any quantity of virtual networks and to control access to them. The automated billing system in the online mode monitors changes of structure of services, allowing to control expenses on IT.
In virtual data center the round-the-clock technical support is provided. Existence of such "insurance" is especially important now when the companies only begin to use cloud computing.
Opinion
"Our company constantly develops, becomes more and more information which needs to be collected and processed. At the same time there are tasks which appear irregularly, for example, training of new employees or development and testing of new insurance products. We unrolled in "cloud" an information and analytical system on the Oracle platform to which all branches of the company can be connected. It allows to receive exactly so many computing resources how many it is necessary for training or testing. It is convenient that using a self-service portal we can independently regulate consumption of computing powers" — the head of department of IT of SAO "GEFEST" Georgy Vlaskin commented on the project.
"In any company there are tasks requiring flexible approach. "Cloud" allows to solve this problem and at the right time provides necessary IT resources which will not stand idle in the rest of the time. Of course, to go to cloud computing a certain degree of an internal maturity of the organization, in fact, "cloud" — one of the most hi-tech forms of outsourcing is necessary. We give an opportunity at first free of charge to test a cloud service: for 2011 the demo access used about 200 companies, some then became our commercial customers. By the way, on such way the GEFEST company went — Ruslan Zayedinov, the deputy CEO, the head of data processing centers of CROC company noted.
