2019: Start of two cash desks of self-service

On October 2, 2019 the CSI company reported that in Republic of Belarus cash desks of self-service — in 2 GIPPO shops in Minsk earned. Starting a modern format of payment of purchases, the retailer is aimed to attract clients, to increase capacity of shops and to solve a problem of deficit of personnel. The system of self-service in Gippo was installed by the Russian company CSI together with the Belarusian partner Belkristallservice.

Cash desk of self-service

Islands of self-service opened for buyers in Gippo hypermarkets on Rokossovsky Avenue and Gorecki Street. They are provided by 4 cash desks of Diebold Nixdorf about the scanner scales, modules of acceptance of cash, bank terminals and the Pirit cash registers. Cash desks of self-service instantly scan goods, consider a discount according to the card of loyalty, accept notes and coins, give change. They also allow to be calculated — to enter at first by the non-cash and mixed method cash, and to charge the remained amount from the card.

The software solution Set Retail SCO developed by CSI company manages a system. On each step of the buyer accompany hints thanks to which it will have no problems during the work with cash desk of self-service. The interface is available in the Russian and English languages.

We discussed a self-service format for our shops long ago, but several years to postpone this idea were forced. As soon as this intention became economically reasonable, our management decided to implement the system of self-service. A role was played also by the expected deficit of cashiers in the market. Cash desks of self-service easily solve this problem. They best of all are suitable for small purchases, allow to unload the classical cash register line and to reduce queues. We needed the modern equipment with acceptance of cash, an opportunity to give change and to accept payment according to the card, with fast scanners and the thought-over software. We received all this from our contractors — CSI and BELKS companies which in 2 months started the system of self-service in two of our shops.

The next stage — to achieve planned targets of system effectiveness of self-service. Experts of CSI and Belkristallservice will work on it. On the basis of the reached indicators the retailer will make the decision on further start of a system of self-service in other shops of network.
