2021: Optimization of business processes in the network of GAP and Banana Republic stores in Russia
On October 28, 2021, Korus Consulting Group of Companies announced that it had completed a project to introduce ERP in the GAP and Banana Republic chain of stores in Russia for Gap Retail. The system based on Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 helped the retailer unify business processes, improve the quality of product accounting and delivery planning, and also strengthened the online sales channel.
With the development of the business and the renewal of the online store, Gap Retail (the exclusive retail representative of GAP brands, Banana Republic in Russia) faced ERP restrictions: the platform ceased to cover the necessary business functions, including those related to online trading. In addition, the retailer used a set of different IT systems, which created difficulties - information had to be verified and corrected. To ensure a single source of reliable data, synchronize and accelerate processes, Gap Retail management decided to implement Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 in partnership with Corus Consulting.
ERP became central to the company's digital ecosystem, ensured the correctness and quality of information, accelerated the work of divisions. One of the key tasks of the project team was integration Microsoft Dynamics AX with an online store,, WMS POS solution and system financial and accounting. Thus, online processes were organized: sales when the buyer generates an order, the system automatically checks for the availability of runoff for each item, which makes it possible to ensure a sufficiently high accuracy of the selection of orders.
Korus Consulting specialists completed improvements in the system taking into account the tasks and business processes of Gap Retail. We have implemented a module for planning and replenishment, with the help of which the company calculates the volume of deliveries and automatically generates the necessary documents for sending goods to retail outlets. In addition, they automated the calculation and reservation of goods for sales in the online store.
The Korus Consulting team has implemented warehouse closing and cost conversion processes in the system. These procedures are performed in ERP daily, allowing the retailer to quickly obtain up-to-date financial data. In addition, experts automated the logistics of import purchases in terms of deliveries: forming orders, working with invoices, distributing goods to the warehouse, stores and to Marketplaces - all information is available on a single platform.
"The efficient use of technology and the transparency of doing business have always been the main values of our company. As a retailer working with well-known global brands, it is important for us to demonstrate high standards in customer service and offer a wide range. Now stores are operating in a single digital circuit, the speed of operations has increased and all conditions for the further development of IT infrastructure are provided. This was achieved largely thanks to the coordinated work of the Korus Consulting and Gap Retail teams, - notes Evgenia Romanova, Finance, Logistics & IT-Director "Gap Retail." |
"We continue the project and develop OLAP reporting on the Microsoft Analysis Services and Power BI platform according to the methodology proposed by us. By synchronizing the database system with the data warehouse, the company receives operational analytical reports in the necessary sections for the business. The IT solution allows management to track sales results, product balances, seasons and revenue, as well as trends important to the fashion industry. In parallel, we enrich reporting with historical data collected by the previous system over several years of operation, as well as statistics from open sources, so that Gap Retail specialists can analyze the dependence of demand on various factors and make balanced decisions when planning an assortment, " commented by Alexander Repnikov, project manager of the Microsoft ERP department of Korus Consulting Group of Companies. |
At the end of October 2021, the IT company completed the second stage of the project, within the framework of which it realized in the system the opportunity to carry out inventory of the warehouse without stopping activities with a selection of goods from the areas of inventory and non-inventory goods.
