Gazpromneft increased efficiency of development of fields using artificial intelligence

On March 26, 2019 the Gazprom Neft company announced carrying out tests of own digital system for increase in efficiency of oil production. The program allows to analyze thousands of options of development of fields and to select the best. By estimates of her developers from Scientific and technological center of the company, economic effect of implementation of a digital product only on pilot fields Gazpromneft East and Slavneft-Megionneftegaza will make more than 500 million rubles in five years.

Intelligent system "ERA: Optima" in a complex optimizes mining, allows to pick up effective geometry of arrangement new and operation modes of already existing wells on the basis of three-dimensional modeling. Reengineering of the Krapivinsky field Gazpromneft East became a pilot project. The selected optimal scenario of development of an asset will allow to increase in the medium term profitability of the project by 300 million rubles. On the Achimovsky field Slavneft-Megionneftegaza the digital instrument proposed effective solution which will allow to increase production more than by 8% and for 11% — profit on project implementation.

Earlier considerable part of calculations by preparation for development of fields was executed by oil industry workers manually. Assessment only of one option took about a week. ERA: Optima automatically places wells, determines parameters of their management, starts production calculation, calculates economic indicators then it offers the specialist a set of the most effective scenarios.

The carried-out calculations showed that the options found a system for 20-30% exceed on cost efficiency of the offer, created on the basis of expert methods. The digital assistant reduces the volume of the routine transactions executed by engineers at selection of options by 80%, and the optimization algorithm allows to calculate only potentially perspective scenarios.
