2021: Launch Updated Warehouse System Version

On December 1, 2021, Korus Consulting Group announced the launch of an updated version of the warehouse system for one of the distributors of food and animal feed in Siberia, Geba. The upgrade improved the stability of WMS, accelerated key operations and improved employee experience. The project was fully implemented remotely, and the target performance parameters were achieved in just three days. The system is located in the cloud.

The distributor first contacted KORUS Consulting in 2010. Then the customer's warehouse space was automated on the basis. Manhattan SCALE Ten years after the implementation, the company's management decided to update WMS in order to gain access to additional features of the system. To implement the project, Geba again invited the IT company KORUS, Consulting an exclusive partner Manhattan Associates in and. Russia countries CIS

One of the key tasks of the experts was to transfer the warehouse to an updated version quickly, without losing the pace of sales, the volume of shipments and not increasing the volume of capital investments in the system. The project began in the summer of 2020 - a protracted period of lockdowns - so experts offered the customer a completely remote format of work. To significantly reduce the start-up time of the project and CAPEX equipment costs, it was chosen to place the solution in the integrator cloud - KORUS.Cloud.

Due to the significant volume of vendor's regular investments in R&D, the functionality of Manhattan SCALE has significantly expanded compared to the 2010 version. The updated version of the system reduces the amount of individual improvements in favor of the standard capabilities of the system, which increased the stability of the solution, its reliability and ease of maintenance.

For Geba, it was also important that the changes be comfortable for users of the system. Warehouse workers note that the interface of the updated version is slightly different from the previous one. At the same time, users received more mobility: now shift managers, foremen and other specialists connected to resolving incidents can work in the system through a browser from anywhere in the warehouse and from any device - right on the spot they can confirm discrepancies or make changes through a smartphone or tablet.

As a result, the team managed to fulfill the main requirement of the customer - to launch an updated version of WMS as quickly as possible. The warehouse reached the target performance parameters in record time - three days after launch. This result was achieved by thorough testing of the solution and the coordinated work of the project team.

Deciding on such projects is not easy. Any implementations or upgrades take time and often stop key processes. The price of errors in this case may be too high. All the more important in such projects is the participation of an experienced partner who understands exactly how to carry out work quickly and efficiently. We are glad that we turned with our task to KORUS Consulting: a deep industry expertise of the partner helped us minimize all possible risks and get a stable platform that will support our further growth, "said Alexander Rumyantsev, head of the Geba warehouse complex.

When updating an existing system, it is important to ensure a user-friendly transition to an updated solution. Not only the convenience of employees depends on this, but also the number of possible mistakes that they make. We understood this and involved employees in retraining even before the full launch of the system, at the testing stage. It was important for us to reach 100% of the capacity as quickly and efficiently as possible, because the completion of the project coincided with the peak season of the warehouse - and our team managed to accelerate this process as much as possible and meet 3 days without critical losses, "added Andrei Chmyrev, head of the department, Logistics, KORUS Consulting Group of Companies.

{{Quote'Cooperation with Geba Distributor 'is another example of remote implementation of the project, including launch and further technical support of the solution. The configuration of the production part took only a week, and the complex has been operating without failures since the start. Placement in the KORUS.Cloud cloud environment made it possible to reduce the time and labor intensity of the launch, as well as avoid additional costs for the purchase of equipment, "said Anton Egorov, infrastructure solutions architect, IT outsourcing department of KORUS Consulting Group. }}

2009

Geba, a regional food distributor, automates the process cycle of storage and handling of cargo based on the Manhattan ILS solution developed by Manhattan Associates. The project was implemented by Korus Consulting. The project started in mid-September 2009. Warehouse automation is implemented in order to improve the quality of service to the company's suppliers and customers, as well as with the intention to attract new customers.

As part of the project, a wi-fi network will be deployed in the warehouses, servers will be delivered and adjusted, a system will be installed and personnel will be trained.

From the introduction of the new solution, the client expects to solve the problems of controlling the shelf life of products, ensuring transparency in the accounting of balances in the warehouse, reducing re-sorting, meeting special requirements of suppliers and buyers for the supply, storage and shipment of goods. The management of the company also plans to solve the tasks of personnel management with the help of the new system.

The launch of the system is scheduled for January 8, 2010.
