Hevel will develop solar power on Sakhalin for billions of rubles

Customers: Government of Sakhalin Oblast

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk; State and social structures

Project date: 2022/09

At the end of September 2022, the Sakhalin Oblast government and Hevel signed an agreement on cooperation in the creation and development of solar power in the region. The agreement provides for mutual cooperation on the development of autonomous hybrid power plants using renewable energy sources (AGEU).

The implementation of ASUE projects will ensure the socio-economic development of the region and improve the environmental situation by reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, as well as optimize the cost of electricity production, especially in isolated energy areas of the Sakhalin Region. The project will be implemented by Hevel Energoservice LLC, a member of the Hevel group.

The introduction of solar energy will reduce the level of SO2 emissions. If in the region the amount of emissions is equal to the amount of SO2 absorption, then such a region is considered carbon neutral. Since 94% of emissions in the Sakhalin Region are accounted for by power facilities, we are faced with the task not only to provide Sakhalin residents with high-quality energy supply, but also to make sure that this energy supply is environmentally friendly, "said Valery Limarenko.

Earlier, Hevel announced plans to introduce hybrid solar-diesel power plants in a number of regions of the Far East. Autonomous hybrid installations are being built in territories with decentralized power supply. For projects in Yakutia, Transbaikalia and the Magadan Region, Hevel can receive financial support from ВЭБ.РФ in the amount of 1.9 billion rubles with a total cost of 4.9 billion rubles.

Hevel has already built seven autonomous hybrid installations with a total capacity of more than 20 MW in Transbaikalia, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Tuva and Altai, as well as Chukotka.[1]
