Russian business of the world's largest cement producer switches from SAP to 1C

Holcim in Russia plans to switch from the SAP ERP system to 1C. This follows from the vacancy of the business application architect in Holcim, published on the HH portal. According to the description of the project, the company will transfer finance, production, sales, management accounting to local solutions designed for about 2 thousand users^[1].

And from the vacancy of the project manager it follows that the company plans to implement "1C:ERP. Holding management, "carry out the unification of different systems (ERP, MES, BI, ECM), create a corporate data bus^[2]

Holcim, the world's largest^[3], a cement producer headquartered in Switzerland, is developing a cement business in Russia and the direction of non-metallic materials and concrete. The company operates four cement plants located in the Moscow region (Voskresensk, G.O. Kolomna), in the Kaluga region (Ferzikovo) and in the Saratov region (Volsk), as well as three quarries for the extraction of non-metallic materials (Karelia). The SAP technology platform is an international Holcim standard.

Against the background of Russia's special operation in Ukraine, Holcim at the end of March 2022 announced its decision to initiate the process of exiting the Russian market "in accordance with the company's values," and shortly before that, about stopping investments in Russian projects^[4].

At the same time, the company said that they were considering options for selling their Russian factories in order to avoid the risk of the seizure of assets by the Russian authorities and protect employees^[5]. In mid-May, information appeared that Holcim was negotiating the sale of its cement plants in Russia with 15 companies^[6].
