IBM Cognos Enterprise Planning

The MTsFER-consulting company completed the next stage of the project on automation of budgeting based on the Cognos Enterprise Planning system (Cognos EP) in the Pronto-Moscow media holding which is releasing including, the "Iz Ruk V Ruki" newspaper.

Within two months was the model of formation of the annual income and expenditure budget which was implemented at the level of the separate centers of the financial responsibility and all holding in general is developed.

A system provides formation (data entry, approval and a statement) of annual budgets by editions, formation of a consolidated annual budget by the CFD and also loading of actual budgets, interpretations of costs for the salary and breakdowns of revenue by segments in the subsidiary and regional companies. Based on these data there is a formation of the consolidated annual budget (to detailing on the enterprise, on the city, according to editions and types of activity). Support of version control in formation of annual budgets, recalculation of budgets from national currency of the reporting in rubles, the analysis of the acquired information in any convenient analytical cuts and also forecasting of budget implementation in the following after reporting the periods is implemented.

Access to model for users is provided via the web interface that allows to collect and consolidate quickly information, to differentiate access rights, to scale and to flexibly change structure of model.

Information exchange between participants of process of budgeting is performed by means of comments on budget items. Planning can be conducted in natural, cost and relative indicators.

Further development of a system is going to be expanded due to automation of unloading of actual data from the accounting systems; system implementations of KPI holding, creation of an analysis system and forecasting of business data and strategic management by the company, automation of preparation consolidated the report in the GAAP and RAS format.
