Qrator Labs protected the Universiade-2019 from DDoS attacks and cracking

On March 20, 2019 the Qrator Labs company specializing in counteraction to DDoS attacks and ensuring availability of Internet resources announced assistance in ensuring stable work and continuous resource availability of the uniform center of power supply of the XXIX World winter Universiade of 2019 which took place in Krasnoyarsk.

In particular, Qrator Labs took part in ensuring protection of network resources against DDoS attacks and cracking of one of key infrastructure partners of the Universiade – PJSC IDGC of Siberia (enters into Rosseti group). The project was implemented together with the partner of Qrator Labs — virtual data center of Cortel.

"IDGC of Siberia" provided regular power supply of objects of the World winter Universiade, using digital technologies: the large-scale project on upgrade of the most part of infrastructure, digitalization of all objects of the Universiade and ensuring condition monitoring of the equipment online was implemented.

With respect thereto special attention was given to reliability of a power network complex of Krasnoyarsk and also permanent resource availability and protection against information invasion into work of the automated systems providing functioning of power supply system.

Qrator Labs protected external perimeter of IDGC of Siberia network from DDoS and cracking at the level of applications and also the geoportal — the high-loaded load map of power supply system during the Universiade on which all objects of power, their current and planned loading on an electric power fence were shown.

Protection of large-scale power infrastructure of the Universiade against the whole complex of network attacks allowed to gain our company useful and important experience. Security of information resources of the international sports events — rather uncommon task, but network of filtering Qrator in a complex with the solutions Web Application Firewall of our partner of Wallarm proved the efficiency, having provided continuous resource availability and protection against cracking and having been highly appreciated from the Ministry of Energy — Alexander Lyamin, the founder and the CEO of Qrator Labs reported.

Thanks to the technology partner of Qrator Labs, we built the system of information protection for "IDGC of Siberia". It allowed to reflect all attacks in the mildest terms and to ensure 100% safety and fault tolerance — the commercial director of Kortel LLC Alexey Klushin said.
