On March 22, 2019 the Rostec company reported that Avtomatika ensured information security of objects of power during the XXIX World winter Universiade of 2019 which was taking place in Krasnoyarsk from March 1 to March 12, 2019. During this period a large number of attempts to carry out cyber attacks like "failure in service" through an external circuit of information networks of power facilities or to get unauthorized access through local networks was recorded. The package of measures, the STC Atlas accepted by affiliated enterprise of Avtomatika Concern together with the enterprises of PJSC Rosseti, allowed to prevent more than 2.5 thousand threats.
According to the company, among examples of cyber attacks specialists give the following: on a certain network equipment attempts of operation of vulnerability of the web application, interception of HTTPS session, loading of executable code and the PHP code in the web application, attempts of scanning of network and open ports SSH and other were fixed. In an internal circuit (local networks) the Center of monitoring recorded about 12 thousand more suspicious events of information security. Part of them were critical and belonged to cyber attacks which were also prevented. On a result of the project it was recorded that the events which entailed violations in work of specialists and power supply facilities of the Universiade were not allowed.
For project implementation by Avtomatika Concern in Krasnoyarsk the Center of information security monitoring located in the Interregional distribution grid company of Siberia (IDGC of Siberia) was unrolled. Round the clock in the Center about 20 experts from the Atlas enterprise, 9 experts from IDGC of Siberia and also the removed working group of Novosibirsk worked. After the end of the Universiade the Center of monitoring continued the functioning for the purpose of further development and information security monitoring on all platforms of IDGC of Siberia.
In the modern world protection of objects of critical infrastructure against cyber attacks has often not smaller value, than counterterrorist measures. Access to such objects from the outside can lead, for example, to failures in energy supply and other serious effects that is especially critical in the conditions of mass actions. During the Universiade the staff of the Center of monitoring prevented more than 2.5 thousand threats of information security which could lead to hardware failures. Implementation of protective measures was provided by means of the domestic equipment and the software. Sergey Sakhnenko, industrial director of a radio-electronic cluster of Rostec |
Except information security systems on power facilities of Krasnoyarsk the automated control system of Ruselectronics holding of State Corporation Rostec was implemented. It allows to collect in the automatic mode information from controlled power objects, to trace a condition of equipment in real time, to broadcast data on videowalls with display of telemetric information of a status of the electric networks in dispatcher stations and command center by networks and to react instantly to emergency situations.
