Rostelecom until the end of 2018 will install nearly 40 thousand intelligent metering devices on objects of PJSC Interregional Distribution Grid Company of Siberia (enters into Rosseti group) in the Krasnoyarsk, Altai and Transbaikal regions, the Omsk and Kemerovo regions, the Republics of Khakassia and Buryatia.
Upgrade of an accounting system will help IDGC of Siberia to create more precisely volumes of the rendered services in electric power transmission and to fix its transmission losses to consumers that will increase efficiency of use of energy resources of Siberia.
Rostelecom implements the project on creation of systems of accounting of electrical energy for IDGC of Siberia as power service company. Preproject inspection of objects and design and exploration work are already complete, for 49 percent installation of equipment is executed.
"In the last several years our company actively develops the power service directions, but in Siberia it is the first large-scale project of a similar format in the field of electricity metering. And in this case we act as both provider of digital solutions, and the investor. Thanks to the fact that we perform works ahead of schedule IDGC of Siberia will be able to gain effect of implementation of the project before the planned terms", – the vice-president-director of macroregional branch "Siberia" PJSC Rostelecom Nikolay Zenin noted.
After carrying out all works of IDGC of Siberia will pass to automatic collecting of indications of all metering devices into uniform timepoint. Power meters of new generation will transfer far off data to IDGC of Siberia on the protected Internet channels. Consumers will be able to take readings of metering devices of the electric power using the remote control at any time. Smart meters will allow to pass to multitariff accounting and to save on payment for electricity. Besides, they allow to protect the consumer's electric equipment from external influences on backbone power transmission lines (noises, overvoltage).
"Implementation of the joint project of Rostelecom and IDGC of Siberia will allow to provide remote monitoring of a status of networks, to keep more accurate accounting of the electric power. And it is also a basis of "smart" networks – the project of Rosseti company aimed at more effective management of an electric power expense. The intelligent system allows to minimize rationally losses, to increase cost efficiency, to conduct address work with consumers and that is very important, to lower breaks in power supply from several hours to one minutes", – the acting deputy CEO for implementation and development of services of PJSC IDGC of Siberia Egor Kalenyuk noted.
The project is expected four years: replacement of the equipment on new and its integration into the existing system of accounting of the customer at networks more than one thousand kilometers long will come to the end in 2018. Return of investments from the means received by IDGC of Siberia at the expense of actually reached economy will take three more years.
