Aeroflot replaces SAP software with 1C systems and will spend 1 billion rubles on this

Customers: Aeroflot

Moscow; Transport

Project date: 2023/04

At the end of April 2023, it became known that Aeroflot, within the framework of the import substitution program, began to switch from the German enterprise resource planning (ERP) system manufactured by SAP to the Russian analogue based on 1C solutions .

According to the Vedomosti newspaper, the air carrier introduced SAP for management accounting in 2012. On the basis of this system, almost all internal business processes of Aeroflot are automated. However, in the current geopolitical situation, SAP left the Russian market, and therefore the airline needed alternative domestic solutions.

The passport of the Innovative Development Program of Aeroflot PJSC dated 2022 states that the air carrier has an extensive IT platform, which was built on the basis of the systems of the largest companies - SAP, Sabre and Lufthansa Systems. Aeroflot's business operations are 100% automated. Key IT systems include: Sabre AirVision Schedule Manager (for forming, maintaining, editing, analyzing aircraft schedules), AirVision Revenue Optimizer (for managing commercial network loading), ATPCo (platform for storing tariff information, processing and further transfer to world booking systems), ASCAR (for automated analysis of the carrier tariff market), IRIS (revenue integrity protection system), etc.

It is noted that the transition to the Russian economic accounting system will take about two years and will cost Aeroflot about 1 billion rubles. In general, it is expected that by the end of 2024, the company will import 84 foreign software products, and the share of costs for Russian software in 2022-2024. will be 80%. By 2030, this figure will reach 100%.

A comprehensive program of projects has been formed, within the framework of which more than 40 initiatives will be implemented to implement domestic software products, including control systems for key business processes of the airline, office applications, system software and specialized IT solutions for the aviation industry. As a result of an integrated approach to import substitution of software, domestic digital solutions will be introduced in all key areas of activity, Aeroflot notes[1]
