Mangazea Mining on February 3, 2025 announced the completion of the transition from Canadian CaseWare Financials software to the domestic Sumra solution for automating financial reporting.
According to CNews, the decision to replace was made after the Canadian developer left the Russian market in 2022, which led to problems with technical support and software updates.
The migration to the new platform took three months, during which the Mangazea team, together with Armus Pro, carried out a complete transfer of data to the new system with customizable report forms.
Roman Tulenkov, head of the IFRS group at Mangazea Mining, noted that the new system turned out to be more intuitive and flexible than its imported counterpart, providing additional functions for control ratios and retrospective reporting.
Armus Pro CEO Arseniy Musikhin stressed that the introduction of Sumra demonstrates the competitiveness of domestic developments in comparison with foreign solutions. The success of the project is confirmed by the timely preparation of reports for the nine months of 2024.
The new system gained a number of advantages over the previous solution: the mechanism of control ratios, the ability to retrospectively form reports and "inherit" data. An important factor was the availability of regular updates and technical support from the Russian developer.
The company plans to further develop work with Sumra, including the formation of special reports based on data from international financial reporting standards, which is part of the overall digitalization and import substitution strategy.
The transition to domestic software allowed not only to preserve the functionality of the reporting system, but also to gain additional opportunities to optimize business processes in the context of a changing economic situation.[1]
