In St. Petersburg will construct a neurosurgical complex for 7 billion rubles

In the middle of June, 2020 it became known of construction of a scientific and clinical neurosurgical complex in St. Petersburg. According to the Kommersant newspaper with reference to the website of state procurements, the starting (maximum) price of the contract makes 6.992 billion rubles.

The new complex will be constructed at the National medical research center of V.A. Almazov. According to the technical project, the neurosurgical complex will include the medical and diagnostic body on 150 beds, medical and rehabilitation — on 180 beds and pathoanatomical the body. An object is going to be put into operation in 2023.

Requests for tender are accepted till July 6, 2020. In the same it is going to sum up the results of an electronic auction.

Additional body of institute should appear on section in 6.1 hectares opposite to house 41, letter A on Zapovednaya Street in Primorsky district. Expansion was required to the medical center after the Russian research neurosurgical institute of a name of professor A.L. Polenov was its part (in 2014).

Construction of a complex is planned in connection with constantly growing need for rendering the neurosurgical help to the population of St. Petersburg and the Russian Federation and need of further rehabilitation treatment of patients with a serious illness of a head and spinal cord, backbone and peripheral nerves  — it is said on the website of the center of Almazov.

Competition on construction of the facility was announced in 2017. Soon the contractor started construction. However, as explained RBC in the press service of NMITs of Almazov, work were stopped as the leaders of the center made the decision to replace the contractor. The new contract organization will be selected according to the results of recently announced competition. The reasons of change of the contractor in the center do not open.^[1]
