The experimental design bureau Innovator is the scientific-industrial complex equipped with the modern equipment and allowing to perform production of serial batches according to the available orders.

MEScontrol.WMS system implementation in experimental design bureau Innovator was implemented by specialists of the company X-In tensive again equipped warehouse intended for storage of metals.

The warehouse consists of two parts: racks for storage a pallet and the console racks intended for storage of pipes and other large-size products. The main problems in work of a warehouse were long terms of approval of documents for material issue, need of confirmation of availability of material in a warehouse in the manual mode.

Project objective — complex automation of work of a warehouse. The MEScontrol.WMS system should provide accounting and transparency of warehouse processes in the automatic mode: acceptance, storages, movements and issues that was performed earlier in the manual mode.

Main objective: providing up-to-date information about existence of required materials in a warehouse in structural divisions of experimental design bureau Innovator.

Works on MEScontrol.WMS implementation:

  1. search in nomenclature number and passport characteristics is implemented;
  2. the system of barcoding is implemented: on each accounting unit the label on which the barcode is located forms. The barcode is a unique identifier of accounting unit and is connected with material parameters which are entered into a system: batch number, number of melting, chemical analysis, GOST, profile, specifications (S). In addition to a barcode on the label nomenclature number, the name of material and number of the accompanying passport are placed;
  3. in a warehouse the addressing system of material and the system of barcoding of racks / warehouse positions is introduced: the location of each accounting unit is unique and can be identified;
  4. in a warehouse installation, installation, connection and setup of the labeling equipment and mobile scanners of barcodes is executed;
  5. training of employees is made;
  6. integration of the MEScontrol.WMS system with systems which are available at the enterprise is implemented:
  7. synchronization of the reference book of nomenclatures and documents for issue is performed;

in a system jobs are created:

  1. storekeeper;
  2. lead engineer;
  3. administrator;
  4. head of department.

Results of implementation of MEScontrol.WMS:

  • the storekeeper unambiguously defines exact location of material in a warehouse, performs its search in the shortest period.
  • information in electronic form is available to all participants of process: the engineer in real time sees existence of the required material in a warehouse, the storekeeper, in turn, obtains information on the requirements of issue of material recorded in a system and in advance trains him for issue;

in a system the possibility of formation of different report versions is implemented:

  1. "Report on the current remaining balance";
  2. "Report on material acceptance for the period";
  3. "Report on material shipment";
  4. "The report on an excessive consumption of material" (issue over the requirement).

System implementation of MEScontrol.WMS allowed to solve, first of all, a problem of timely obtaining reliable information about availability of material in a warehouse by specialists of the enterprise that significantly reduced transmission time of material in production.

The project was implemented in enough short time: from the moment of problem definition prior to trial operation of a system there passed one and a half months.
