In January 2026, Tatenergosbyt, an electricity supplier in the Republic of Tatarstan, signed a contract with Meridian-Kazan for 1.308 billion rubles. Smart electricity metering devices in apartment buildings will be purchased and installed for this amount.

According to the official public procurement portal, Tatenergosbyt placed an application in the form of an open auction on December 12, 2025. The only competitor of Meridian-Kazan was Magma-M. She participated in an auction with a less favorable offer (1.315 billion rubles) and lost.

According to the terms of reference, 84,463 single-phase and 1,004 three-phase smart meters will be delivered and installed within the framework of the contract. The maximum price of one device is limited to 13.3 thousand rubles for a single-phase and 15.8 thousand rubles for a three-phase device.

The total cost also includes metering services and current transformers. The tender documentation contained a direct ban on the purchase of foreign-made metering devices.

The press service of Tatenergosbyt told CNews that in 2025 the company replaced 67,616 metering devices. It is planned to install 85,967 new devices in 2026. Since 2020, the total number of installed electric meters has reached 287,779 units. The share of intelligent metering devices in apartment buildings of the republic is 24%.

Product Director of Mirtek Group of Companies Alexander Pronsky assessed the contract as one of the most significant in the procurement segment of intelligent metering devices, the total market of which he estimates at 55 billion rubles. A representative of Miluris, Kirill Kupriyanov, noted that the price of single-phase meters is high if it does not include the cost of installation work.

According to CNews, this auction attracted attention, since the previous purchase of meters by Tatenergosbyt at the end of 2024 by 997.4 million rubles. caused an industry resonance. Contract for 992.4 million rubles. then the company "SK Stroy" won, and the equipment was supplied by "Energomer." Industry representatives had suspicions about the foreign origin of the chips used in the meters. According to sources CNews, the inspection of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry did not reveal any violations.[1][2]
