2019: Project completion on creation of an automated system of budgeting
On February 19, 2019 the CORUS Consulting company reported that it completed the project on creation of an automated system of budgeting on a cloud platform of Anaplan in the private medical company "Invitro".
According to the company, in connection with permanent expansion of a product line and systematic development of the new directions of business in the management of Invitro the need for improvement of approaches to budgeting and creation of a centralized system for ensuring transparent process of financial planning appeared.
During the choice of the platform for automation of budgeting several software solutions were considered and tested. First of all, providing security data, flexibility and speed of implementation became the main criteria for evaluation of a system. In addition, management of Invitro considered presence at the platform of a possibility of setup and development of the solution by own forces, without participation of external specialists.
The cloud platform of Anaplan was as a result selected. For project implementation CORUS Consulting Group was invited. The project became continuation of successful cooperation of Invitro and a command of integrator – before the company implemented a budgeting system based on Oracle Hyperion Planning and also created storage and data marts on the Microsoft Business Intelligence platform.
To guarantee to the customer a possibility of consolidation of indicators by the time of budgeting, experts of Corus Consulting performed implementation of functionality upside-down – from the general to the particular. The flexibility of the platform allowed to begin with the block of consolidated statements and to gradually connect to a system blocks up to the bottom level of detailing of data. Thus, while some blocks were developed, others were already put into operation and were used in budget process.
Possibilities of the platform allow Invitro to see changes of data and to receive results of consolidation in real time that helps with the subsequent scenario modeling. The efficiency and efficiency of acceptance of management decisions considerably grew thanks to existence in the system of dashboards of heads. The built-in and evident visualization of tables in reports helps management of the company to browse and compare "live" financial performance during discussions of the budget: from the accumulated data to a narrow cut of information on this or that activity, division or laboratory.
Besides, experts of Corus Consulting implemented methodology of budget planning in a system: veterinary science, diagnostics and instrumental researches. It allowed Invitro to include all detailed reports on these processes in the consolidated budget of the company.

2018: Upgrade of a budgeting system
On July 2, 2018 the CORUS Consulting company announced the beginning of the project on creation of an automated system of budgeting based on a cloud platform of Anaplan in medical company "Invitro".
Due to business development of Invitro business processes of the company underwent changes, and need of improvement of approaches to budgeting ripened that, in turn, had to cause changes of settings of the available budgeting system. Considering current situation, the management of Invitro made the decision on creation of a budgeting system on other platform. During the choice of the software solution for automation of budget process several systems were considered and tested. Data security provision, speed of calculations, speed of implementation, an opportunity to independently create models became key criteria when choosing the platform and to support a system by forces of business users. The cloud platform of Anaplan was as a result selected.
For project implementation the CORUS Consulting company was invited. Earlier specialists of integrator already implemented in the company a budgeting system based on Oracle Hyperion Planning therefore are familiar with business processes of Invitro and are capable to transfer quickly a part of solutions from Oracle Hyperion Planning to Anaplan.
Within the project requirements will be collected and the existing budgeting model is updated, the budgeting system in Anaplan is customized and also will unroll own Competence Center of Invitro for support and further development of the platform.
For June, 2018 the first stage of the project as a result of which the technical architecture of future system was developed is completed, key project solutions are implemented and the model of collecting of the consolidated budget of income and expenses on all companies of group is created. The command from Invitro was trained and is ready to setup of separate blocks of a system that will allow to create in the future full-fledged Competence Center and will significantly simplify support of a system by forces of business users.
Completion of setup of all block of the consolidated budget reporting is planned for July, and transition to trial operation – for September, 2018 that will allow to start a budget campaign of 2019 in the created system.
2014: Creation of a budgeting system based on Oracle Hyperion Planning
On April 25, 2014 the CORUS Consulting group announced project completion on process automation of budget management in Invitro group on the Oracle Hyperion Planning platform.
Project Tasks
In 2012 the company management set the task - to increase efficiency and quality of the operating system of budget management.
Rapid development of a regional branch network and departments, quickly changing conditions of business "bared" problem zones of the used budgeting model by means of the MS Excel:
- lack of online access to up-to-date information,
- separation of data sources,
- long terms of collecting of the budget, obtaining reporting and carrying out analysis.
Solve a problem attracted CORUS Consulting Group. The combined team of experts according to the results of the conducted preproject examination defined the purposes:
- increase the accuracy and data transparency of the management reporting;
- reduce duration and labor input of processes of formation of budgets and collection of data on their execution.
As the platform for implementation of this project the complete solution for the integrated business planning, budgeting and forecasting of Oracle Hyperion Planning was selected.
Project Progress
Project implementation was separated into two stages. Within the first work on process automation of budget management in operating companies of group is carried out. Implementation of a new system in the infrastructure and technical companies of group, setup of financial consolidation of managerial data on all group became the second stage.
During the project in Invitro Group the existing model of budget management is optimized, areas of responsibility of participants of budget process are defined and routes of approval of budgets are developed.
Project Results
"The solution implemented on the basis of Oracle Hyperion Planning helped to reduce significantly terms and labor input of processes of collecting and preparation of budgets for all group, to lower load of employees of financial department, it is essential to increase reliability and transparency of the used data", – Natalya Baranova, the chief financial officer of Invitro Group noted.
