Itelm completed testing of telematic ERA-GLONASS blocks

On September 30, 2014 the Business company "Beeline" announced completion of tests of telematic blocks for "ERA-GLONASS". Works are carried out together with NPP ITELMA.

Project Tasks

The ERA-GLONASS system for signal transmission of an emergency call on panels of special services can be expanded monitoring solutions for rendering additional services. In this project the specialized SIM chips Beeline Business installed in telematic blocks passed test by switching from a profile of network of the operator to the ERA-GLONASS profile.

Since 2015 all for the first time the models of cars undergoing certification, should be equipped with similar devices, and since 2017 — all new cars.

For September 30, 2014 the share of cars of domestic brands in structure of production makes 26.1%. In January-March, 2014 116.9 thousand pieces are manufactured in Russia.

Project Results

Possibility of use of commercial services along with obligatory existence of the ERA-GLONASS profile will allow to accelerate in the future considerably process of formation of uniform Russian transport infrastructure.

"According to results of a pilot project, JSC VimpelCom it is completely ready to equipment of cars telematic blocks. The network meets all necessary requirements for data transfer rate and reliability of connection both for the ERA-GLONASS project, and for providing commercial services to end consumers and car makers", – Igor Heresh, the development director and to sales of telematic services of JSC VimpelCom noted.

"The ERA-GLONASS block of production of NPP ITELMA will become one of the first devices such, serially installed on cars in Russia. Owners of such cars will have an opportunity to use additional telematic to services (protection, monitoring, the help on roads), thanks to existence in the SIM chip block with a commercial profile Beeline along with the abnormal ERA-GLONASS profile - Alexander Sokolov, the associate director on development of NPP ITELMA told.

"NP GLONASS as the only contractor of the ERA-GLONASS project created the navigation and information and telecommunication infrastructure covering all regions of the Russian Federation. On its basis since 2015 the system of the emergency reaction at accidents of "ERA-GLONASS" will begin to function and also different services for car owners will appear, - Evgeny Meylikhov, the deputy manager of the ERA-GLONASS project on development reported. - Today tens of the companies — car makers and producers of the automobile equipment, carry out development and tests of the products and prepare for carrying out their certification on compliance to requirements of the Technical regulation of the Customs union and the corresponding standards. NP GLONASS gives active support to market participants. Within the ERA-GLONASS system the special subsystem intended for support of development and tests of terminals is created. VimpelCom as one of prime vendors of communication services, takes active part in development of the perspective market of services for motorists, offering SIM chips with two profiles — "ERA-GLONASS" and Beeline".
