Power supply is one of the major tasks for large megalopolises. The transport system, utility structures, industrial and business sectors — the organizations of any industry need continuous power supply. Business life without electricity stops, the companies and the city incur enormous losses.

JSC United Energy Company, being now one of the largest electricity providers in Moscow, was created 2005 at the initiative of the authorities of the capital for problem solving in the electrical power industry of the region which led to system crisis and mass power outages.

Applies the innovation approaches to achievement of the purposes of JSC OEK and uses advanced technologies. Along with high-quality ensuring power supply of consumers — both the population, and industrial enterprises — "OEK" pays special attention to environment protection and improvement of the existing ecological situation. Therefore on the objects the company uses only the modern energy efficient equipment meeting the highest quality standards.

The mission of United Energy Company, its principles of work force to impose increased requirements not only to themselves, but also to the business partners. Therefore for the choice of supplier company of the equipment of dispatcher stations of district power plants the open competition in which many companies — market leaders participated was held. The victory in tender was won by the DEPO Computers company which proposed for project implementation the new solution of DEPO VideoCube.

"Projects with increased requirements, including to fault tolerance of the equipment are very important for us — Victor Urusov, the vice president of DEPO Computers company noted. — Implementation of such projects gives the chance to demonstrate that we are capable to provide the unique solutions meeting specific customer requirements. It would be self-confident to claim that for us there are no unsolvable tasks at all, but we aim at that them was as little as possible".

Dispatcher stations of the district power plants of JSC OEK located in all Administrative Districts of Moscow are intended for data collection and processing about a status of substations and local cable networks, the abnormal notification for operational fault recovery, management of electricity feed-in to consumers and are one of the major security protections and a regular supply the electric power.

The control and management system for substations of a dispatcher station registers a deviation of controlled parameters from permissible values and if necessary gives the abnormal report on the basis of which the manager makes the decision on prompt actions on elimination of a problem. At the same time the more monitors and management employees have, the taken measures are more effective. A continuous duty of operation, large volumes of diverse information, need for comfortable working conditions — all this leads to presentation of special requirements to the equipment of dispatcher stations.

Depending on the information volume who needs to be brought to the videowall for dispatcher stations two candidate solutions of DEPO Videocube were configured: for installation of videowalls from 12 or 15 LCD panels.

Data processing, arriving from substations, is performed using a failover cluster from two servers with a storage system and the KVM console for their service. After information processing the video controller of DEPO Race ReVision brings data to the videowall.

Each controller has 12 or 15 video outputs (by quantity of the connected LCD panels) and allows to manage without effort image output on the videowall. The controller is expected continuous operation and equipped with the dual power source of excess power with a possibility of hot swap of modules.

The videowall consists of seamless LCD panels with the diagonal of 46 inches (the size of one panel of 1.0×0.6 m) set on the special supports guaranteeing stability and providing convenience of maintenance. Especially for this project on a production site of DEPO Computers the standard mounting kit was finished that allowed to fix videowalls to a ceiling for bigger reliability.

Jobs of managers serve for tracking critical parameters of substations and are equipped with computers with two 30-inch displays on which, as well as on the videowall, operational information about subsystems, controlled data is displayed by the employee. Data exchange between district dispatcher stations and the Center of technology management of networks is performed on the protected wireless Internet connection.

All equipment of control systems was connected by substations to uninterruptible power supply units with control function on network that provides working capacity in case of failure of power supply.

Whatever occurred, the consumer should not feel discomfort — Mikhail Ivanov, the deputy technical director of JSC United Energy Company noted. — Specialists of DEPO Computers not only provided us with all necessary equipment, but also showed flexibility and efficiency of completion of the solution when we needed to reconfigure the videowall in one of dispatcher stations. We were extremely satisfied with our cooperation".
