2022: Network Infrastructure for New Office
Aruba, the company, Hewlett Packard Enterprise together with the company "" First Bit completed the project to build a network infrastructures for the opened office in. The Joom To Moscow company's network is implemented on the basis of the cloudy platform Aruba ESP and supports the transmission standard (data 802.11akh). This WiFi 6 will allow a large international marketplace, according to the company, to work and cope with the constantly growing network load over the next 10-15 years. Moreover, Aruba will provide Joom with a service guarantee to support installed equipment and stable communication quality. This wireless was announced on February 10, 2022 by Aruba.
This network infrastructure project is based entirely on the automated universal Aruba ESP platform - a full-size cloud platform for wired, wireless and SD-WAN environments based on artificial intelligence. The created platform will help Joom IT managers improve the efficiency of managing office network resources, increase their throughput, and protect against cyber threats using the "zero trust" model, which identifies potential network problems before they occur.

= noted Vladimir Kuklin , DevOps Lead in the infrastructure team at Joom.|"Joom has six offices around the world, and Moscow has an office with an area of 7,000 sq.m., where our developers mainly sit. We focus on how the WiFi will work in our company. We in Joom are quite strongly integrated into the professional IT community, so we always ask the opinion of other companies and collect feedback. Almost all large and not only IT players recommended the "First Bit" as a service provider, and they were not
mistaken.
The built network covers our entire office, is integrated with several clouds, our enterprise systems and has all the necessary components to fulfill the tasks in terms of growth of our network infrastructure, "-}}
Joom's 7,000 sq.m. office space includes 400 workspaces and 60 meeting rooms, as well as many other functional spaces. Employee workstations do not provide a wired connection to the network and require a stable connection WiFi from anywhere in the office. Each employee uses more than one connection device, which is due to the high requirements for the performance, reliability and fault tolerance of the wireless network.
In addition to mobility and security, the tasks of the network equipment project included the organization of routing, switching, network management and control of access to network resources. The project was implemented in just three months.
The core of the network for Joom office space was switchboards Aruba 3810, which is characterized by low time latency and high fault tolerance. The Aruba 2930M access switches provide instant failover and ensure continuity for the network user.
To build a high-performance seamless network WiFi, the Aruba Instant solution was used with 77 points of standard WiFi 6 located in the office areas. The installation of the equipment was complicated by the specifics of the rooms and the difference in ceiling height, which required the installation of many points on specially custom-made brackets to allow flexible height adjustment.
The management of access points and coordination of actions in the cluster is the responsibility of the virtual controller, whose functions are performed by one of these points ("main "/conductor). If the point-controller fails, its function will be automatically taken over by the neighboring point from the cluster. In the event that a failure occurs at a normal access point, the virtual controller will increase the power of its neighbors to optimize coverage .
Managed and monitored by the Aruba Central cloud service. At any time, the system administrator can access network status and topology data, as well as interactive coverage maps informing about service parameters and the location of network users.
The built-in AI Insight module based on artificial intelligence analyzes information about the network and its performance, identifies problems and offers recommendations for resolving them. For many years, Aruba has been collecting and analyzing statistics on problems that occur in customer networks, and based on this data AI Insight provides tips for debugging and configuring the network.
Joom uses the Aruba ClearPass solution to control access to the enterprise network. This allows you to assign a role to each of the connecting users. When assigning a role, the authentication parameters, user device parameters obtained from the cloud system ClearPass Device Insight, and MDM JAMF data are taken into account. The role defines access to the set of network resources allowed to the user and is applied directly on the access point or switch, depending on the type of client connection.
"We are pleased that Joom has evaluated the solutions offered by Aruba and implemented a project based on the ESP platform. Against the backdrop of exponential growth of IoT data, the need to play audio and video without delay, our expectations from the WiFi network are also growing. WiFi6 - technology with increased efficiency, high throughput and a fairly high level of security, this is an investment in the future, " commented on the project Anastasia Kostinova, consultant on Aruba network solutions in Russia. |
