Karelia upgrades network of hotel and hostel

On December 9, 2013 the federal telecom operator "" in St. Petersburg announced Business to Дом.ru completion of works on implementation of telecommunication services in Karelia Business hotel and youth hostel "Graffiti L" the complete telecom solution in structure: high-speed Internet access, access points of Wi-fi Hot Spot, the virtual PBX and the organization of the protected VPN network.

Project Tasks

In connection with considerably the increased load of Wi-fi network of hotel, increase in capacities of the existing network infrastructure was required. Besides, improvement of a scope of Wi - Fi - zones in premises that guests could move on hotel without rupture of Internet connection was required.

Project Progress

Solving assigned tasks, the operator integrator "Дом.ru Business" performed connection of hotel on a fiber optic cable to the broadband Internet with a speed of 100 Mbps, having at the same time unrolled several access points of Wi-fi Hot Spot which "covered" all territory of hotel.

In Graffiti L hostel which is in operational management "Karelia Business hotel on the basis of high-speed connection to the Internet, also in detail several new Wi-Fi Hot Spot and the "cloud" automatic telephone exchange for more effective management of telephony is connected.

To optimize information exchange and management processes between offices of hotels the general corporate network organized on the basis of communication channels with capacity of 20 Mbps. that increased process performance connected taking into account lodgers, work with data and management of the number of rooms is created.

Project Results

Implementation and upgrade of structure of network integrate local networks of two hotels, the power of Wi-fi and Internet access is twice increased. Users of mobile devices had an opportunity to connect freely to the web at a comfortable speed for web surfing, work with e-mail or communication on social networks and also to watch stream video and to use different applications. At the same time it was succeeded to cut down expenses on development and operation of telecommunication infrastructure and to increase its overall effectiveness.
