2025: Using Kaspersky DDoS Protection
Kaspersky Lab has protected the international economic forum Russia - Islamic World: Kazanforum from DDoS attacks of the XVI. The Laboratory announced this on May 26, 2025.
During the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: Kazanforum," the Kaspersky DDoS Protection solution ensured the protection of sites and Internet services of the event, accessible from the outside, from DDoS attacks, without false blocking of traffic of guests. The protection covered a complete list of protocols that were used on the network. To protect web services from this type of threat, updated methods of detecting and filtering attacks at the application level were used - the most difficult to detect. In addition to high-precision protection against DDoS threats, the forum sites were provided with a system to counter bots. This improved the quality of traffic filtering and reduced the latency of the main forum site.
The criteria for choosing a solution were: the provision of a comprehensive service, combined protection against DDoS attacks and bots, as well as the availability of expert support and the speed of the team of engineers. Traffic processing, data storage and resource filtering were carried out exclusively on the territory of the Russian Federation - these are the requirements of the regulators. Therefore, the presence of the FSTEC certificate in the Kaspersky DDoS Protection solution has become an additional plus in its favor.
Kaspersky Lab ensured the stable operation of our online resources. We monitored the state of traffic of protected resources during the forum and received comprehensive analytical information on DDoS attacks, attacked addresses and sources of threats, "says Vasily Zinkin, First Deputy General Director of CIT-RT. - In addition, thanks to access to the KDP API, we implemented the automatic sending of attack reports to the NCCC, which reduced the burden on engineers during the event. I would like to especially note the work of the escort team: the project engineers have always been in touch and quickly responded to our requests. Thanks to the synergy of experience and technology, it was possible to achieve continuous availability of the forum infrastructure. |
