The company was faced with the task of modernizing the production supply system, minimizing the purchased batches, increasing the frequency of supply and reducing the number of stockpiles.
The company repurposed the premises where the production line was previously located for a warehouse of materials for the production and other auxiliary products. Before starting work on the launch of a new warehouse, the management of Kaztsentrelektroprovod LLP asked AXELOT to conduct a logistics audit and compile a list of recommendations on the organization of warehousing in the new area.
At the time of contact with AXELOT, the company's products were stored mainly in metal containers on the street, as well as in separate rooms located at different points on the production site. AXELOT specialists were to analyze the current storage organization and develop options for the development of the warehouse, taking into account the existing introductory ones.
AXELOT experts conducted a site survey, collected and analyzed information on the features of goods, the size and characteristics of the warehouse. The collected information was compiled into an analytical report, which contained a list of identified problems and recommendations for their elimination.
Next, several concepts were prepared with options for planning and organizing work in the new warehouse. One important conceptual addition is the use of mobile carts to select orders. Since the warehouse stores, among other things, various small-piece goods, trolleys can be very convenient for one-time selection of several orders with control by the WMS system. Such equipment can significantly speed up the selection procedure and reduce the likelihood of selection errors
One of the proposed concepts of warehouse development was approved by the management of Kazcentrectroprovod LLP and taken into account as the basis for modernization and automation of the warehouse.
