Asteros automated creation of telecommunication infrastructure in Kimberly-Clark company

Kimberly-Clark — one of the world's largest producers of products for personal, professional hygiene and health care. Actively developing business in Russia, the company in the spring of 2010 started own production of means of hygiene in the city of Stupino of the Moscow region. The new plant is equipped with the hi-tech equipment of the last generation and is unique from the point of view of applied production technologies.

Choosing a Solution

For effective work the enterprise needed to create basic IT infrastructure which will provide uninterrupted support of business processes of the enterprise and will reduce operating expenses of buildings. Besides, increase in efficiency and reducing costs of the organization of corporate communications between the plant, Moscow and other Russian offices and also the company headquarters became one of key tasks of Kimberly-Clark.

Project Progress

Specialists of Asteros based on solutions of SYSTIMAX developed and implemented the network of the combined type on nearly 500 jobs supporting all information traffic: voice, data, video and applications of electronic business. For ensuring fault tolerance of infrastructure 100% reservation of communication channels were provided.

On the next stage of the project the failsafe system of telephony which allowed to organize effective telephone communication through IP network is implemented and to provide to users access to the centralized voice applications located on the foreign platforms "Kimberly-Clark". During creation of this system on two objects of Kimberly-Clark 120 digital and 200 Avaya IP phones were involved. In conclusion experts of Asteros equipped the administrative building of the plant with the system of the video conferencing constructed using solutions of Polycom. VKS was combined with the similar system of the Moscow office and the European system in a unified environment of business communications.

Result

Today telecommunication infrastructure of Kimberly-Clark industrial complex is used for work of computer networks, telephone communication and the engineering systems. The unified systems of telephony and a video conferencing help the company with the online mode to hold the operational meetings and joint discussion with remote participation of employees. It increased efficiency of decision making and allowed to cut down communication expenses for 15%.
