KrasEKo has chosen Kaspersky Lab solutions to create a cyber-immune workplace infrastructure

2024: Kaspersky Thin Client Implementation

The Krasnoyarsk Regional Energy Company (KrasEKo) has implemented a comprehensive solution based on Kaspersky Thin Client, developed by Kaspersky Lab. The project started after the completion of the pilot and aims to create a safe and manageable workplace infrastructure for employees. This system meets the requirements of the digital transformation strategy of the enterprise and allows you to flexibly manage the geographically distributed IT infrastructure. Kaspersky Lab announced this on January 28, 2025.

To implement the project, KrasEKo chose a hardware and software complex (PAC) in the form of a thin client, which includes:

• Kaspersky Thin Client operating system based on KasperskyOS;
• Kaspersky Security Management Suite management system;
• TONK TN1200 hardware platform entered in the registry. Ministry of Industry and Trade RUSSIAN FEDERATION

This solution provides a secure connection to the virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and allows users to work in heterogeneous Windows and Linux infrastructures. The system supports USB devices such as USB drives, printers, scanners and security tokens.

Initially, thin clients at KrasEKo were used to create jobs for line personnel engaged in routine tasks, including calculating the cost of services and billing. The company faced the task of scaling processes. When choosing a solution for this, the requirements for centralized management, compatibility with domestic operating systems and the presence of a hardware platform in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation were taken into account. An important factor was also KrasEKo's experience in using Kaspersky Lab products.

The introduction of the system allowed KrasEKo to create a functional workplace infrastructure that provides a high level of protection against cyber threats due to the "innate" security properties of KasperskyOS-based solutions. As a result of the pilot project, the system was deployed in several divisions of the company, and in the future it is planned to scale it to all sites.
