In St. Petersburg the supermarket with cash desks of self-service appeared

In December, 2013 in one of supermarkets of a premium class Lend in St. Petersburg earned cash desks of self-service. The network became the first of the St. Petersburg product retailers, offered to buyers this technology.

As the solution for the project cash desks of NCRSelfServ were selected, and their delivery and adjustment was performed by NewVisionInco company. In the last note that cash desks of self-service have a number of the advantages over normal cash desks proved by world practice: according to the statistics, the SelfServ Checkout systems are capable to reduce about 40% of queue in shop that, undoubtedly, will be kindly apprehended by buyers.

New solutions also eliminate stresses, the conflicts and excess nervous tension, add to the companies, increase efficiency of a cash zone, reduce dependence of sales on work of cashiers whose shortage in labor market is felt constantly, add to the companies.

The representative of NewVisionInco in St. Petersburg Evgeny Rosenblat explained TAdviser that the cash desk of self-service is more expensive of, than a normal workplace of the cashier, but if to take into account that a workplace it not only the cash register and the Fiscal registrar, but also cash boxes and the other equipment, then a difference in the price already turns out not so considerable. Besides, it is leveled due to receiving a prize of the floor space since the cash desk of self-service takes less places. Also there is a cost reduction on personnel, Rosenblat adds.

Arguing on why in Russia still cash desks of self-service were not widely adopted, the representative of NewVisioInco notes that penetration of new technologies is traditional come to Russia with lateness. His company made the first such implementation in Eastern Europe in 2007 (The Lithuanian network IKI).

"In this case, in my opinion, the delay was connected with low salaries of personnel and availability of labor power, at the moment the situation changes, besides retail chain stores care more and more about quality of the provided service, - he says. - I predict mass pilot projects in 2014, and since 2015 presence of cash desk of self-service at shop will be as ordinary as existence of the payment terminal of mobile communication", - Evgeny Rosenblat says.
