2021: Launch of a pilot project on regular passenger transport routes of Sosnovy Bor

Digital services for passengers will appear in buses of the Leningrad Region. This was announced on October 14, 2021 by Datapax.

Residents of the city of Sosnovy Bor in October 2021 will be able to use digital services in public transport. They will be asked through a mobile application to track the location of shuttle buses and leave feedback.

The decision to launch a pilot project to provide a complex of electronic services on regular passenger transport routes was made on October 14 by the Leningrad Region Transport Committee and the administration of the Sosnovoborsky urban district. The project partners are the Regional Navigation and Information Center for the Leningrad Region (RNIC for LO), Datapax and SberTroika.

As part of the RNIC pilot project on LO, Datapax will provide residents with the opportunity to track the location of shuttle buses and the expected time of arrival of transport at stops using the Transport of the Leningrad Region mobile application. A feedback function is provided - passengers will be able to leave comments on the situation on the route network, the work of electronic services and the execution of the traffic schedule, which will be taken into account in the future to improve the quality of transport services.

The mobile application will be improved and adjusted to the passenger, offering to carry out a comprehensive trip taking into account alternative modes of transport and even use the accompanying and additional services: find a suitable cafe or store along the way and make an online purchase. If you need to transfer from bus to train, the user will go to the application and issue a ticket online, without wasting time in line at the ticket office at the station.

Thus, in one application the full-fledged ecosystem with useful information, news, services, services will be created. Transport of the Leningrad Region will unite all types of urban public transport, innovative means of mobility and convenient additional services.

The pilot project operator expects to improve the quality of the current route network, create comfortable conditions for using public transport and improve passenger awareness of transport services in the Leningrad Region. According to representatives of Datapax, the experience of other regions showed that planning a trip using the application will allow passengers to save at least 10% of travel time.
