2022: Installation of automated storage and sorting system
On January 28, 2022, Vanderlande announced that it had implemented a major project in Russia, installing an automated system for storing and sorting goods based on the Adapto shuttle for Leroy Merlin, one of the participants in the Russian DIY (do it yourself) retail. The system was installed in the Northern Star technological distribution center, which was built in the Moscow region and serves 112 hypermarkets in Russia and Kazakhstan at the end of January 2022.
Leroy Merlin is part of the ADEO group of companies. The company has 464 stores in 12 countries, offering customers a wide range of goods for home, interior, building materials, repairs and gardens. The Adapto system developed by Vanderlande contributed to the rapid growth of Leroy Merlin, ensuring even faster delivery of goods to hypermarkets and effective management of the growing volume of Internet orders.
The Vanderlande storage solution consists of pallet feeding and unloading devices, as well as workstations for pallet laying and unloading by operators. The total capacity of the system, consisting of two Adapto modules, is 7,400 incoming and 7,400 outgoing pallets per hour. About 75,000 storage bins are integrated into a highly automated solution that is managed by Vanderlande's Vision software. The warehouse with the introduced system began its work in May 2021.
"It was not easy enough to launch such a significant project in terms of time limitations.
