Linxdatacenter optimized cable infrastructure of DPC using the solution Eurolan

The Linxdatacenter company, the international expert in the field of high-tech solutions of storage and data processing, cloud services and telecommunications, announced on May 3, 2018 project completion on optimization of SCS infrastructures of data center through input in commercial operation of the cable solution Fast Cross Cable (FCC). Now clients of DPCs of Linxdatacenter can switch between channels of different operators of fixed connection or be connected to new provider less than in 2 hours, noted in the company.

Tasks

The wide choice of services of telecommunication providers obliges DPC to react quickly to requests of customers on jumper connections with their networks.

The project was directed to quality improvement of work of a cable system and ensuring operational connectivity between clients of DPC on all platforms Linxdatacenter. The company unrolled the single standardized cable system for the purpose of fall forward of connection of racks with the equipment and IT resources of clients to channels of the telecom operators working in DPC.

Project Progress

Re-equipment of Meet-me-Room (MMR) — the selected hall in space of DPC where telecom operators perform physical connection to racks, to trunk communication channels and also to networks of other operators for exchange of traffic was for this purpose made. In MMR it is created the working environment is optimal for smooth operation of telecommunication infrastructure of 24/7 operators/365.

Project Results

Clients of DPC regularly have needs for change of the operator or expansion of number of telecom providers with whom they work. Also operational commissioning of the new equipment during the scaling or upgrade of a corporate IT system, conducting testing of new solutions and connection setup with the resources located on other platforms can be required. For accomplishment of these tasks in MMR all traditional types of cable connections are used: fiber-optic lines, twisted pair cable, etc.

Input of the FCC-solution of the Swedish company Eurolan helped Linxdatacenter to increase quality of work of a cable system and ensuring operational connectivity of clients of DPC. The project allowed to create the uniform protected point of connection of the equipment of clients and provided resource availability more than 40 telecom operators provided in DPC. Possibilities of FCC are available to all clients of Linxdatacenter within the order of cable connections in DPC.

The project was completely implemented in 2 months. The first and most obvious results of its start we can call reduction of time of carrying out cross patchings in MMR till 2 o'clock instead of 1-2 days. Eurolan products completely cover requests of data center on all SCS components for upgrade of cable infrastructure, including the cross and optical panels and also single-mode optical links of class OS1/OS2 for the solution of all range of tasks of DPC on the operational organization of cross patchings — Dmitry Chukanov, the senior manager of projects of Linxdatacenter company reported.

Process of reorganization of SCS was carried out trouble-free in rendering services of DPC. In a system growth potential is put, and its opportunities will be increased in process of increase in amount of client requests in Linxdatacenter, specified in the company.
