The Russian Navigation Technologies (RNT) company – one of leaders of the Russian market of monitoring systems and control of motor transport – announced the beginning of the second stage of the project on implementation of an end-to-end system of a GLONASS/GPS of monitoring and control Avtotreker in JSC Lori (Yekaterinburg), the companies carriers of the Ural region and Siberia. At this stage all road trains, trucks and tractors of the company – only more than 200 units will be connected to a monitoring system. Within this project, together with Beeline operator – one of leaders of the Russian market of cellular communication, developed and implemented the special rate allowing the cargo carrier working in Europe it is essential to reduce costs on mobile communication and data transmission of monitoring.
In JSC Lori the technologies and procedures allowing to process large volumes of loads at the same time are created to manage hundreds of road trains which are in the different countries of Europe. All technology of transportation is fulfilled to automatism, and an important part of this debugged mechanism is the Avtotreker system. Implementation of this system began at the end of 2007 when by three machines long testing in actual practice of cargo transportation across Europe and Russia was held. Then, during the first stage of the project, the equipment was step by step installed on 100 road trains. Except the standard elements allowing to keep track continuously of location and relocations of the CU fuel flow sensors, control facilities of operation of heaters and pre-launch heaters and also the module for contactless reading of information on a status of the nodes connected to the onboard CAN bus, units and the different equipment of the car tractor were included in the package of an aircraft equipment of the Avtotreker system.
Since the beginning of 2010 the monitoring system is in commercial operation; from its use the company gained serious effect. So, the main task – increase in efficiency and justification of any solutions on fleet management was solved. Also the accuracy of observance of the schedule increased that is a figure of merit of logistics services, important for customers of cargo transportation. Besides, economic indicators considerably improved - the saved-up statistics allowed to lower by 5% standards of fuel consumption in general on the enterprise. Also single vehicle mileages decreased and the turnover of transport increased.
The begun next stage of the project is connected not only with quantitative increase in number of the machines connected to a monitoring system. Based on dispatching service the modern dispatching center equipped with the most advanced means of planning of routes of the movement and visualization of the actual location and movements of vehicles on electronic cards will be created. Also, expansion of the list of parameters of monitoring and implementation of new instruments of operational processing of all arriving information – for the purpose of further improvement of information support of the decisions made at the level of managers and management is planned. More remote, but not less important purpose – increase in speed and quality of information exchange between onboard and server segments of a system, use not only the mode of packet data transmission in GSM (GPRS/EDGE) networks, but also more modern networks (3G, 4G, WiMAX) which are generally available in Europe and many regions of our country already today. Respectively, at data transmission true online mode will be provided and the possibility of installation at clients of Lori of the special equipment – for obtaining operational information by them about location of a load will appear. Further, such solution can become standard.

Such services are a huge market both in Europe, and in Russia".
