Tanais updated the Directum system in Luding to version 5.1.3

The Luding company uses the DIRECTUM system since 2010. During this time the archive of documents, quantity of standard routes and also volume of own development considerably increased that affected high-speed performance of a system. Converting on DIRECTUM 5.1.3 had to solve these questions as the new version is more optimal in terms of work speed. Along with it there was a problem of reduction of the size of the database at the expense of a new internal compression engine of tasks.

Works were carried out in several steps. Within the first the TANAIS command unrolled on the provided servers the DIRECTUM system of version 4.9.1 with in advance prepared test base and DIRECTUM of version 5.1.3 and carried out test converting, activation of the updated system and its check. This stage allowed to check base for existence of errors and any exceptions without serious consequences. Test converting in turn allowed to check correctness of work of all modifications which were implemented in an old system.

After the staff of TANAIS company was convinced of working capacity and readiness of a system, converting of production base was carried out.

At Ludinga the big database with a huge number of documents that influences the speed of converting and provides serious requirements to the amount of disk space and capacities of servers on which there is a converting.

Naturally converting of such amount of data takes a lot of time not to paralyze work of all company, the decision to start process of data transfer in time off, i.e. at the weekend was made. After transfer of production base and repeated system testing, additional components were installed: web reference and web access.

Converting took place successfully. Now the staff of the company of Luding works in a new system.
