The Luhansk state medical university completes upgrade of IT infrastructure

The AMI company completed the works on upgrade of IT infrastructure based on products and technologies of Microsoft in GU "Luhansk State Medical University" (LUGGMU), the press service of integrator reported on April 15, 2013.

Platform

In LUGGMU increase in controllability of IT services and level of information security provided with centralization of management of access to information telecommunication system of university on the basis of service of the uniform Active Directory directory.

Solution

The contractor created a failsafe basis of IT infrastructure (a "private" cloud), provided configuration management of IT systems and virtual environments, monitoring of work of IT services as deployment of services of management, monitoring and backup of Microsoft System Center, service of certification, network services.

Use of a "private" cloud on the basis of Microsoft Hyper-V technology helped to implement the reliable solution providing fast automatic recovery of operability of IT services, critical for university, in case of machine or program failure.

Result

The university received qualitatively new instruments of collective work with a mail service of Microsoft Exchange Server, service of the joint communications Microsoft Lync Server, the portal for joint work of Microsoft Sharepoint Server and the upgraded file service.

Professor Ivchenko Valery Konstantinovich, the rector of Public institution "Luhansk state medical university", noted: "System implementation of the joint communications provided implementation of problems of distance learning and holding of conferences with connection of removed participants. Use of this product will allow to bring educational and scientific activity of higher education institution to new level due to quality improvement of educational process and existence of ample opportunities for regular participation of our teachers and students in world and national scientific conferences".

Igor Kvitko, the head of department of Infrastructure Solutions of AMI company, emphasized: "Upgraded by joint efforts of specialists of the IT infrastructure AMI and GU company "Luhansk State Medical University" allowed the staff of higher education institution to receive in short terms new safe instruments of collective work for effective conducting educational process and scientific activity and also provided a possibility of further development of IT infrastructure according to tasks of higher education institution".
