2020: Upgrade of a video surveillance system
On May 25, 2020 the company IDIS reported that the company Majid Al Futtaim — the owner of a franchize of shops Carrefour on Near East, addressed specialized to the system integrator Ametrad Technology Services to upgrade video surveillance system Carrefour (8 supermarkets and hypermarket) for the further growth of retail network.
The outdated video surveillance system was expensive in service and required considerable time expenditure, at the same time low capacity in some shops limited performance. These problems were aggravated with statutory requirements about increase in storage life of a videoarchive from 30 to 90 days.
At specialists of Carrefour prevention of losses, increase in security, customer service quality, increase in efficiency of work in all the divisions therefore it was offered to use a core of the updated video surveillance system the software of IDIS Solution Suite matters.
Modular and scaled by software Carrefour provides the economic environment of the centralized monitoring with the multilevel fault tolerance providing protection against instability of network and power supply failures.
The software of IDIS allows to add shops in process of their emergence to networks. Using the step-by-step approach to updating, for May, 2020 32 dome and IDIS cylindrical chambers provide video control in hypermarket in the downtown Irbid (Jordan), together with earlier mounted 64 cameras which will also be updated. For comparison, on average 28 cameras provide control of a situation in each supermarket.
The cameras IDIS provide the sharp image in different conditions of lighting, including in the conditions of insufficient illumination to 30 meters, and cope with changing lighting conditions thanks to a possibility of hardware dynamic super loudness up to 120 dB. the 32-channel IDIS video recorders in each supermarket provide capacity 370 Mbit/second and record in real time to the 960th personnel/second. It provides monitoring in real time and record of archive, and data array of RAID 1 provides the additional level of reliability of storage and data availability.
Using IDIS DirectIP engineers quickly connected each device, and the IDIS For Every Network (FEN) technology allowed to configure a configuration, having connected each storage with command center. The hierarchical structure of connection between IDIS DirectIP devices provides the most optimal method of cable laying in a dispatcher station, compact by the sizes.
Problems with restriction of network transmission capacity were removed using the intelligent IDIS codec which lowers requirements to storage and capacity by 75% in comparison with H.264. It allowed Carrefour to double the number of cameras in each shop to provide complete video monitoring without the need for updating of networks.
The system integrator also unrolls the tool of analytics IDIS VABox which allows to make calculation of visitors, to manage queues, to make thermal cards of activity, to obtain the visualized information on a consumer behavior. All this helps to optimize marketing and sales and also gives managers of shops information on behavior and customer needs.
The IDIS Solution Suite control panel provides monitoring in real time, record, search of events, reports on operability of a system and navigation on models of shops that allows personnel of dispatching service to debug and manage quickly hundreds of video flows and devices in many shops of network. This intuitive functionality reduced time necessary for search and export of the video record, from several hours to a couple of minutes, emphasized in IDIS.
The owner of Carrefour signed the contract with Ametrad for rendering services in maintenance and for May, 2020 works with the Ametrad command over implementation of such technologies as IDIS Deep Learning Analytics.
