St. Petersburg signed a contract for the supply of Belarusian-made electric buses with a total value of ₽1,8 billion. The supplier is Avtotechkom LLC, which is the official dealer of the Minsk Automobile Plant. Information on the conclusion of the agreement was published on the website of public procurement on July 14, 2025.
According to the Fontanka newspaper, initially the transport committee planned to purchase 60 units of rolling stock for ₽3 billion. However, the dealer offered a 40% discount, which allowed to increase the number of purchased vehicles to 99 for a smaller amount.
According to the terms of the contract, electric buses of the MAZ 303Ye23 model will be delivered. The schedule provides for three equal parties: the first - until November 7, 2025, the second - until December 10, 2025, and the third - until March 12, 2026.
The procurement procedure was accompanied by litigation. Trading House Trans-Alpha, which was not allowed to bid due to problems with the bank guarantee, filed a complaint about the results of the tender. The claim was found unfounded, but the regulatory authorities ordered additional consideration of the protocols without changing the winner.
New vehicles will be placed in a specialized depot under construction in the Rzhevka area. The city administration announced the completion of the key stages of the construction of the first site of the facility. On the second territory, the construction of the administrative and production building continues.
Purchased buses represent modern eco-friendly vehicles with electric traction. They ensure quiet operation and the absence of harmful emissions, which is consistent with the strategy for the development of clean public transport in megacities.
The phased implementation will ensure the smooth integration of new equipment into the city's transport network. Drivers and mechanics will undergo special training to work with electrical systems, which guarantees the safe operation of buses.[1]
