MGTS implemented the new platform of management of Internet traffic based on the Deep Packet Inspection system of Procera Networks company

Customers: Moscow City Telephone Network (MCTN)

Contractors: Procera Networks
Product: Deep Packet Inspection

Project date: 2014/08

JSC Moscow City Telephone Network (MOEX: MGTS) implemented on all network of the universal platform on management of Internet traffic which will allow the company to create new user services and package offers for private subscribers, the companies and state bodies taking into account their Internet activity.

The new complex is equipped with DPI PL10024 system (Deep Packet Inspection), developed by the Procera Networks company (USA) allowing to receive detailed reports about structure of the passing traffic under protocols with detailing to the certain subscriber, to carry out analytics and to predict extent of loading of ports. It is at the same time possible to define what type of traffic is prevailing and to take measures for blocking of applications or change of their priorities.

The new platform has the widest directory of Internet resources in Russia on which blocking of the websites with the prohibited content will be performed. Today its base contains about 100 million records both in Russian, and in foreign languages. Replenishment of the list of the dangerous websites happens constantly based on automatic methods of the analysis of the websites, requests "This website is dangerous to my child" from users of MGTS and also from open sources of the international organizations and WOT service (service of a categorization and assessment of potential threats of the websites according to users). Simultaneous application of all methods will allow to reduce time of updating of bases.

Application of DPI solutions and program settings give the chance of more effective filtering of the websites: it is possible not to block completely specific website, and if necessary to prohibit access only to those pages which contain the dangerous or prohibited content as to the text address the Internet of the page (URL), and to type of protocols (network games, torrents, and others).
