2022: Automation of delivery route planning

On June 30, 2022, it became known that online store meat gastronomy "" Outskirts automated the planning of delivery routes, taking into account cancellations and transfers of orders by buyers. The company has implemented optimization of already built routes by clicking from applications courier or the logist interface. This is convenient when buyers cancel or transfer orders that have already been transferred to delivery. Thanks to the implementation, the company has already reduced the amount used by transport 10%. The solution provider became. Yandex.Routing

When canceling or transferring orders that are already in delivery, the courier or logician can click to optimize the route already built. This saves time, which used to be spent on manually rescheduling and communication between the logist and the courier, and the courier with the client.

Previously, a lot depended on the knowledge and skills of specific dispatchers: about a third of all route planning work was done manually based on their own experience. This, in turn, increased the risks of financial losses during the departure of employees. Now, with the help of the service, we have reduced routine manual labor to about 5%, freeing up employees' resources for analyzing and further developing business processes. The Yandex team helps us develop in accordance with our changing business tasks. As of June 2022, all our delivery has been transferred to this platform, - said Oleg Proposhin, head of the online store Okraina.

In addition to b2c delivery - from the online store home to the client - Okraina uses Yandex Routing for delivery from the plant to stores. In this scenario, Routing helps to minimize cases of violation of retail network time windows (which can lead to downtime or failure to unload), as well as correctly load machines taking into account the order of subsequent unloading.
