The RFID technology fixes results of the international running on Ostankino Television Tower

On July 24, 2018 the Aytiproyekt company announced that a RFID system based on a software platform of ITProject RFID Server provided automatic fixing of results of the international Running on Ostankino Television Tower.

The vertical running was held on July 21, 2018. 28 athletes from 12 countries participated in a running. The running on the Ostankino tower has the features. First, the mass start as it is necessary to climb a narrow spiral staircase is impossible here. Therefore athletes started in turn at an interval of 30 seconds. Secondly, in some places of a step are so high that it becomes even more difficult to run. Each of them had to overcome 1704 steps to rise by the closed observation deck of the Television tower on height of 337 meters.

For fixing of results on start and the finish in a doorway the RFID readers Impinj with MTI antennas were installed. Each of participants received a bracelet with a RFID tag in which its individual starting number was written. The equipment (readers and tags) used in the RFID system were picked up so that to provide exact and fast reading of the tag moving at a high speed. The vertical running is heartrending experience for each of its participants on endurance and will power therefore the accuracy and reliability of a system of fixing of results should be provided implicitly.

At the bottom of the Television tower the fan zone in which results of a running were brought to the display installed on the stage was organized. Especially for it in Aytiproyekt the corresponding interface was developed.

Winners of a vertical Running on July 21, 2018 became: men have Christian Riedl from Germany (with result 9:51 a.m.), women have Cynthia Harris from the USA (with result 12:15 p.m.).
