MTS and administration of Novorossiysk signed the agreement on cooperation

JSC Mobile TeleSystems and city administration of Novorossiysk announce agreement signature about the social and economic cooperation aimed at the development of telecommunication infrastructure of the region.

In 2011-2012 investments of MTS into development of the cellular and fixed networks and also networks of cable television in Novorossiysk will make about 130 million rubles.

Today MTS represents in Novorossiysk a full range of communication services based on the modern mobile and fixed networks: voice services, access to the mobile and fixed Internet, cable television, the broadest spectrum of additional services – and we are interested in further development of our network infrastructure for improvement of service and satisfaction of needs of our clients. I am sure that cooperation with administration of Novorossiysk will become the catalyst of development of the innovative technologies of the region and will promote strengthening of business, resort and social infrastructure of the city", - the director "MTS the South" Sergey Laskavy said.

MTS until the end of 2012 MTS will provide a 100% covering of the territory of Novorossiysk with communication 3G. Within the project on improvement of infrastructure of network the operator will increase network transmission capacity twice, thus, the speed of mobile Internet access in all territory of the city will reach 21 Mbps.

Development of MTS network will create additional opportunities for providing with the innovation services inhabitants and representatives of the different industries of business of Novorossiysk. Besides, the agreement will contribute to the development in the city of projects in the social sphere - already today using telematic services of MTS monitoring, coordination and control of the movement of buses, share taxis and cargo transport of Novorossiysk - all more than 1200 units is in real time provided. It allowed to adjust the accurate schedule of passenger transport and to reduce costs of transport companies of the city on fuel more than by 30%. Today the biggest customers of MTS company are such enterprises as JSC Chernomortransneft, JSC Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port, JSC Novorossiysk Shipping Company, JSC Novorostsement.

Also MTS will carry out further upgrade of network of fixed connection of Novorossiysk using the most progressive FTTB technology today (Fiber-to-the-Building, "optical fiber to the house"). For today MTS finished upgrade in the central part of the city, in the second half of the year 2011 similar works will begin in dormitory areas of Novorossiysk. In total the program of upgrade will cover 40,000 apartments of the city. As a result of development of network of fixed connection services broadband access on speed up to 100 Mbit/sec. and also an expanded packet of channels of digital television in better permission will become available to residents of Novorossiysk.

The administration of Novorossiysk within the agreement will cooperate with MTS when implementing infrastructure projects of the company in the territory of the city, to render assistance at development of MTS network for providing residents with mobile communication, the high-speed Internet and digital television.
