Tele2 and ERA-GLONASS operator started the joint virtual operator

2020: Beginning of work of the operator

At the beginning of August, 2020 Tele2 and JSC GLONASS announced official start of the joint virtual operator. The ERA-GLONASS project  MVNO is urged to increase security on the Russian roads.

Partners configured routing of the emergency calls made of the car in the automatic or manual mode and also tested data transmission about the scene and the vehicle in the information system "ERA-GLONASS". Communication channels between networks were organized and interface of infrastructures of communication networks of JSC GLONASS and Tele2 is performed.

Tele2 and ERA-GLONASS operator started the joint virtual operator

As it appears from the message of JSC GLONASS, the company for  the project account "ERA-GLONASS" MVNO with Tele2 to expand the coverage of network, largest in Russia, to ensure system operation of the emergency reaction at accidents of "ERA-GLONASS" and to increase reliability and availability of the to commercial users.

The communication network of JSC GLONASS is integrated with networks of all mobile operators of "Big Four". In case of an automatic call at road accident or manual clicking of the SOS button communication between the ringing circuit of the emergency operational services (RCEOS) installed in the car and the ERA-GLONASS system is performed using infrastructure of operators of networks of mobile communication (PRTS).

According to the development director of a segment of virtual operators and partnership of Tele2 Sergey Volkov, for JSC GLONASS the company entered with start of the virtual operator on the market of Internet of Things, new to itself and expanded cooperation with big state customers. It shows that MVNO projects are demanded in different branches of the economy and segments of the user audience, he emphasized.

2019: The agreement on start of the virtual operator for JSC GLONASS

On November 19, 2019 Tele2 announced start of the virtual operator for JSC GLONASS. With creation of this MVNO Tele2 leaves in the M2M-segment and expands cooperation with big state customers. Tele2 will support work of the Russian system of the emergency reaction at road accident of "ERA-GLONASS" based on the virtual operator. Start of MVNO will promote quality improvement of rendering services of monitoring of transport and loads.

Cooperation provides the organization of access of JSC GLONASS to communication services for the MVNO model on Tele2 infrastructure. The covering and service quality, including along federal highways, allows Tele2 to provide reliability of work of services of the MVNO partner.

Initiatives of the state of protection of life and health of citizens successfully are implemented many years in "ERA-GLONASS" and the services created on its base. At emergence of emergency situation connection between the built-in device of a call of operational services in the car and the ERA-GLONASS system is established. Start of MVNO on infrastructure of Tele2 will help JSC GLONASS to complete creation of a big coverage cellular communication in the Russian Federation. It will even more reduce reaction time at accidents and will increase security on roads of Russia.

For November, 2019 more than 20 virtual telecom operators work for Tele2 networks. According to the results of the third quarter 2019 Tele2 revenue from work in a segment of MVNO grew by 125% year-on-year.

Start of virtual operators is provided by the MVNE platform. It provides a possibility of mass connections for the small companies which want to service from 10 thousand subscribers.

Tens of MVNO already successfully work at our network. Results of the started projects are so convincing that "factory" attracts more and more partners. Tele2 provides to the customers a qualitative cellular network and the high level of support, and it allows them to implement projects of federal scale. The joint project with JSC GLONASS – the next stage in development of the perspective direction as we leave in a segment of Internet of Things and we sign the contract with one more big state customer.
