Asteros created RDPC for retail chain stores of Siberia Maria-RA

On February 12, 2015 the Asteros Group put into operation the reserve data processing center (RDPC) in retail chain stores Mariya-Ra, the product retailer of Siberia. Disaster-proof infrastructure of a complex provides access to all services and 24/7 applications.

Support of dynamic growth required increase in efficiency of network that, in turn, assumed accumulation of technology power and ensuring smooth functioning of business processes Maria-Ra. For risk minimization of failure of critical IT systems and also providing high rates of stability of work of services and applications, the management Maria-Ra made the decision on construction of the additional platform — reserve data center. Such configuration allows to exclude even the minimum delay in operational processes in case of an emergency exit out of operation of the main data center or failure of communication channels at emergence of force majeure.

Among parameters to which future RDPC — the minimized downtimes of the IT system (RTO) and volume of possible data loss (RPO) had to answer at emergence of an emergency situation. The main requirements to integrator concerned existence of the complete design approach and to deployment of RDPC and also project experiment on ensuring business continuity, including, in case of accidents of technogenic or natural character. As a result the project was entrusted specialists of the Asteros group.

In the allotted terms the command of Asteros executed all complex of design, construction and installation works. The project included, including, upgrade of the existing computing and network infrastructure for preparation it to functioning in the mode of the virtualized services. Replication of data between the main and reserve centers was for this purpose configured, setup of rules of migration is carried out, groups of consistency of data are defined.

As a result on the platform of the largest Siberian retailer the complete disaster-proof infrastructure including the reserve data center constructed "from scratch" was designed and put into operation. The total quantity of services and applications in RDPC approaches 100. Infrastructure of the center guarantees access to all 24/7 services. Smooth operation of RDPC and IT services is provided by the equipment from the companies IBM HP APC Schneider Electric. Servers and workstations function running operating systems Windows Server Oracle Enterprise Linux Centos Linux. Reliability and trouble-free operation of data center are provided using technologies VMWare SRM and VMWare HA, safety of data — means of backup and recovery Symantec Backup Exec. The engineering complex includes a conditioning system and ventilation, the automated scheduling and management (ASDU), automatic gas fire fighting, SCS and others. Thus, using the solution proposed by Asteros it was succeeded to reach the maximum reliability information telekomunikatsionnoy networks and to minimize risk of a stop of business processes of the retailer.
