On August 24, 2015 the Asteros group announced project completion of virtualization of all call centers of PJSC MegaFon[1].
Project Progress
The project is executed within six months. Technologies and the equipment Avaya on the VMware platform are used. Virtualization of call centers of MegaFon was carried out by group of 50 specialists of operator, integrator and Avaya company.

Project Results
According to the statement of representatives of integrator, 217 servers across all territory of Russia are put into operation. All Avaya systems used in work of call centers of MegaFon are virtualized.
Igor Romanov, the head on development and support of IT infrastructure of MegaFon emphasized: "For the federal companies working in the field of telecommunications, communication with audience in the mode of non-feet is extremely important. Using virtualization we achieved the important goal: optimized expenses on support of call centers, at the same time having increased the level of their reliability and fault tolerance. Besides, it is significantly easier to upgrade infrastructure with the centralized administration and management under the growing requirements of business. In terms of reliability, maintenance of the hardware server requires time and local resources, and the virtual server can be brought to operating condition from in advance saved picture just in a few minutes".
Valery Sokolyuk, the head of directorate of infrastructure and telecommunication solutions of the Asteros group, noted: "Virtualization - a world trend within decrease in capital and operating expenses on infrastructure. In this context most of the Russian operators or in the course of implementation of similar technologies, or keep them in plans. The project of MegaFon is for us exclusive, the big role in its success was played by a team of the operator and also Avaya. Of course, we do not exclude interest in such projects and from other operators".
