Melston (Microsoft Office 365)

The report on IT Directors Briefing in the spring of 2014 was submitted by Andrey Balyakin, the CIO of Melston Group. Andrey told about the project on transfer of a part of IT infrastructure of group to a cloud which is implemented in Melston by specialists of Corus Consulting. It was mentioned that the deployed solution allowed the company to solve problems of scaling and availability of the existing services (mail, the fixed telephone communication, services of the joint communications and reservation of user data), the resulted development of business organization activity. Together with consultants of Corus Consulting the new fault-tolerant model of services of the joint communications was developed - was decided to refuse local infrastructure for benefit of cloud services based on Office 365 and Windows Azure and also to reserve Active Directory services in a cloud. This project was implemented together with other infrastructure project on transfer of local networks of the company from classical architecture, with the protected perimeter at the level of office, to new, much more effective for which use there is no need for an expensive local network. The user is connected to a cloud of Office365 and a private cloud of Melston, via the servers which are taken out in Windows Azure directly through a normal Internet channel and automatically rising encoded VPN tunnel. On project deliverables the company could achieve decrease in time for opening of new offices from two months to one week, and the predicted economy in a year makes more than ten million rubles.
