Solution

Creation of an information system was conducted gradually, step by step. Implementation in a system logistic both accounting and transfer in it of data from the former systems became the first stage. For July-August, 2004 all main works on implementation of the automation equipment of accounting were carried out.

Automation of payroll and registration of personnel (January-February, 2005) became the second stage.

At the third stage problems of production planning were solved. From March to November the normative reference information was entered into the module "Specification of Products". In a system material, labor and production standards on 1.5 thousand products of finished goods of the enterprise were brought.

Planning and production management

Implementation of an information system went along with improvement of production processes, and a system on the course was customized under changes on production. So, originally full stroke of accomplishment of the request of the client from the order before shipment made 28 days. Then the management decided to reduce it to 14 days. With respect thereto in a system it was necessary to recustomize all chain of planning with planning horizon 'month' for the period 'week'.

In August, 2006 the enterprise delivered new painting cameras. It allowed to expand product assortment several times and to give to clients the chance to select and order color from very wide palette. New cameras allow to pass in the automatic mode from color to color within five minutes. In normal painting cameras which were used before transition time could make till 4 o'clock. As a result of transition the nomenclature of parts which expected the queue in painting on racks was sharply reduced. All this caused changes of the procedure of planning and assortment policy, and respectively demanded also reconfiguration of the Galaktika ERP system.

The held events allowed to reduce process of start of a new color in production and it is essential to simplify process of formation of regulations on a product. Since December, 2006 planning was performed already according to new requirements, considerably having simplified work of technologists – to them now it is not necessary to create the route chart under every color. It became simpler to work also to storekeepers as now write-off of Inventories is automatic.

In December, 2006 the management made the decision to improve process of the "sliding" planning and to reduce production time of finished goods to one week. With respect thereto it was decided to make job order sales plans and productions for 1 day. In January reconfiguration of planning in a system was implemented, and plans are imposed for every day now.
