Voronezh Ministry of Road Activities of the Voronezh Region As part of the implementation of the national project "Safe Quality Roads," an intelligent transport system Voronezh of the urban agglomeration was put into operation, including on the basis of algorithms computer vision VisionLabs the possibility recognitions transport of monitoring the situation on the roads. Implemented AI technologies will help optimize safety, reduce accidents and congestion, as well as optimize the operation of transport infrastructure. This was announced on October 8, 2024 by representatives of VisionLabs.

According to the company, the main goal of intelligent transport systems is to automate road management, which reduces the impact of the human factor on decision-making and reduces the burden on road services. Artificial intelligence detects road incidents faster and more accurately for timely response and measures to eliminate them. Within the framework of the intelligent transport system in Voronezh, software and hardware complexes "Detection of transport flows and situations" manufactured by United Transport Management Systems LLC, operating on the basis of the unified platform for managing the Silk Road transport system (EPUTS SP) and the intelligent video analytics system LUNA CARS from VisionLabs, have been introduced. As of October 2024, they process real-time information from more than 50 road controllers and 100 cameras using analytical modules.

The analysis functionality is based on the LUNA CARS intelligent video analytics system, which is capable of recognizing key characteristics of vehicles. With an accuracy of more than 95%, it determines state numbers, brand, model, color, type, as well as belonging to special or emergency services. The system also counts the number of machines, which helps to detect traffic jams during peak hours. This information helps regulate traffic lights and further design roads and interchanges.

In addition, LUNA CARS includes situational detectors that are capable of detecting the presence of humans in prohibited areas and detecting the presence of animals on roads, preventing possible accidents. If the latter are detected on the road, the system will notify the dispatchers.

LUNA CARS also allows you to recognize violations such as crossing a solid line, turning in the wrong places and parking in prohibited areas. Based on the collected analytics, road services can identify areas with frequent violations and strengthen control over them, which will increase road safety and reduce the number of accidents.

All solutions, including the video analytics LUNA CARS from VisionLabs, are fully Russian development, are included in the "Register of Russian Software" Ministry of Digital Development Russia.
