2021: Implementation of PTV Visum
SIMETRA, the center of competence in the field of traffic flow modeling and transport planning, equipped the Belarusian company Minskgrado with the PTV Visum software solution for transport planning. This was announced by Simetra on January 11, 2021
Since 1996, the Minskgrado Design Institute has been engaged in solving urban planning problems. In the process, employees often face the need to create transport models. Earlier, forecasting of the work of individual and passenger transport was carried out on the basis of the Belarusian development programs "Calculation of Traffic Intensity" (RID) and "Automated Calculation of Passenger Flows" (ARPAS). Taking into account the trends in the development of transport modeling programs, the management of the enterprise decided to switch to the use of PTV products.
The development of the transport model of Minsk is one of our key tasks along with work on the concept and justifications for urban planning, "said Vladimir Prishchepov, head of the Minskgrado road network and transport department. - We expect that the PTV Visum software solution will allow us to more effectively calculate the effect of the implementation of certain urban planning solutions and argue their effectiveness in the process of preparing transport planning documents. |
PTV Visum software solutions will be used for the first time by Minskgrado specialists, so the partnership involves not only the supply of licenses, but also training employees to work with a new set of programs.
We are pleased to expand the geography of our supplies and contribute to improving the quality and detail of transport planning at the international level: we are actively working not only in Russia and Belarus, but also in other regions, for example, with partners from India, "said Christian Böttger, Global Sales Director of SIMETRA. |
