On May 7, 2019 IBM announced creation a solution blockchain which allows telecommunication operators to exchange in the different countries data within roaming agreements. The new technology was tested by MTS and Orange.
When subscribers use mobile communication abroad, mobile operators exchange among themselves electronic documents, including accounts. IBM in cooperation with Syniverse company implemented "smart" contracts which are applied to installation of rules of commission of transactions between telecommunication companies.
The blockchain system improves efficiency of interaction of operators, provides transparency of processes and simplifies conducting disputes in case of their emergence.
As a rule, billing in roaming are followed by need to settle different issues, but transparent exchange this should reduce quantity and duration of disputes.
MTS reported that thanks to a solution blockchain the IBM company could increase system effectiveness of clearing and calculations. By means of smart contracts the Russian operator can create, check and browse all agreements with partners.
Many a solution blockchain rely on standards. In a case with technology of IBM it is about the unified Unified Data Record (UDR) database. Every time when the call is executed, it contains detailed information on duration and the beginnings of a call and also about the dialed number. The standard is intended for distribution of devices using 5G networks and Internet of Things.[1]
In the conditions of growth of internetwork connections and the appearing online technologies the future of clearing and calculations seems in an opportunity to safe cleaning and monetization of any type of network transactions, whether it be roaming, Internet of Things or any other process, – the representative of Syniverse Dennis Myors notes. |
