Mordovia Arena (stadium) (Tekla Structures)

On June 14, 2018 it became known that the Mordovia Arena stadium at which play the games World Cup 2018 in Russia was constructed using the software of Tekla Structures of Trimble company. This tool implementing philosophy of BIM (Building Information Modelling) allowed contractors – project and installation contractors - to qualitatively perform complex work, having met the tough deadline. The stadium has the unique structural elements.

The stadium located in Saransk is capable to accept 44 thousand viewers. On it there will take place four group matches of World Cup 2018. A cover of stadium of a non-standard oval form, it smoothly goes down to northern and southern stands and then again rises to east.

The basis of stadium was formed by 88-shaped consoles 40 meters high and a construction departure on 49 meters. Production of consoles from steel pipes allowed to reduce the total weight of constructions of a covering — about six thousand tons. The producer of metalwork, the Belenergomash-BZEM plant made metalwork of a complex geometry with a large number of weld joints with an accuracy of 10 mm at flight to 60 m. Use of BIM technologies allowed specialists of the plant to organize workflow and to provide productive interaction of different divisions. At construction of objects such volume abutting weld joints from pipes with a change were applied.
