Moscow Credit Bank (MKB) has introduced Smart IDReader technology from Smart Engines to recognize passport data of customers, bank cards and barcodes. This was reported on August 26, 2020 in Smart Engines.

Smart IDReader technology is used mobile application bank ICD Online in to recognize bank cards and barcodes when making payments. Now, to bank customers to make account transactions, it is enough to bring a bank card to their camera to phone count the card number and its validity period. The necessary data ones are recognized and automatically entered in the corresponding fields of the payment form. In this case, the recognition of the card occurs almost instantly, even in low or excessive lighting, on the go, when traveling in a taxi, etc.

In the application used by the ICD employees for on-site customer service, when concluding contracts using the implemented technology, the data of Russian passports are automatically recognized and extracted. To fill out a new client card, a bank employee just needs to scan the client's passport, placing it for a few seconds in front of the smartphone camera. Smart IDReader allows you to safely recognize documents, since all calculations are performed on the device itself without transferring images for processing to third-party services.
